HOW TO BE SAVED
The Bible tells us after God created the heavens and the earth, He made man and woman
in His Image – our very nature was holy and blameless. It wasn’t long before man rebelled against God, and the relationship between man and His Creator was damaged: man was
separated from God by sin. Man was unable to make things right on his own. What could
be done to reconcile man to God?
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.”
What is sin? Sin is a serious offense against God. Sin is best described as breaking God’s law; it is disobedience or rebellion against God. It is sin that separates sinful man from Holy (sinless) God. There is good news! You do not have to be separated from God by your sin. God’s only Son, Jesus, came to earth, died on a cross to bear the sin for all mankind. He paid the price for man’s sin: your sin-debt is paid in full! This is God’s gift to you - salvation and it is free to all who accept it. Here’s how to claim God’s free gift – how to be saved:
ACKNOWLEDGE your sinful nature. ADMIT you are a sinner.
Romans 3:10 “None is righteous – no, not one.”
Romans 3:23 “All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.”
CALL upon the Name of Jesus. CONFESS your sin. ASK forgiveness for your sin.
Romans 10:13 “For everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved.”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
ACCEPT God’s free gift of salvation by grace and through faith in Jesus Christ, His Son.
Romans 5:8 “God showed His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”
Let’s review how to be saved:
If you understand salvation and are willing to trust Jesus, pray the [suggested] prayer below:
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. There is nothing I can do on my own to make things right with God. But I believe You died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sin, and I believe You rose from the grave to make me a new creation now and forever. Jesus, I admit my guilt, confess my sins. and ask Your forgiveness. Please come into my life, take control of my life, and show me how to live a life pleasing to You. Thank You for this free gift of salvation, which I accept by grace through faith. I pray these things in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
If you have made the decision to trust Jesus as your Savior and Lord of your life, please let us know. We want to pray for you and help you as your begin your new life in Christ Jesus.
